Comments:Hello Peter

I suppose we all relate best to the music of our youth, so the works of King Crimson and yourself will always be magic for me, evoking a huge emotional response of laughter and tears, the pains of lost things and pleasures of fond memories and love. All your creations, including the prophetic '21st Century Schizoid Man', 'The Letters' (an astounding and shocking piece of rock drama that brings tears to my eyes) the visionary 'Still' and the erotic 'Ladies of the Road' still give me a huge amount of happiness, for which I'll always be grateful.

I never thought we'd all be here in the year 2006. So on the eve of that new year I'd like to give you heartfelt thanks for all you've done and wish you all the very best for you and yours in the future, whatever it may hold.

Kind thoughts,

Ray

Comments:I don't recall writing " They said there'd be snow at Christmas... and a thirty foot half-decorated fir tree outside your window..." Hmm? Which there is. Never the less- Just thought I would take a 'seasonal moment' to say a huge thank you to all the people who have added a kind word or three to this dreambook in the past year. You will never know how much you have on so many occasions lifted my spirits. Bless you for taking the time to spur me on.
& indeed spurred I am with, after a lull and regathering of energy, dreaming
and scribbling away... Many new songs are in the pipeline not the least some
mayhap slightly, ahem, unusual for my, with luck, to be finished come spring, second solo album currently called- "Terrible Animal". Hey what's 30 odd or so years between friends? Now with reference to the picture competition-
I regret no one recognised the occasion of Spurs winning the FA Cup being erm, celebrated by- well me... Nigel Kennedy and his girl friend Lexie, Eric Idle and of course our host a certain Mr. Gary Linneker. Yep. Hard to believe but If you win it THEY actually let you borrow it for an evening. Its very heavy.
There you go then... I'll try to set a less devious puzzle next time.... hah. Meanwhile I wish you and yours strength, vision & happiness for the coming year- to cope with an increasingly, or so THEY would have us believe, sad, mad, bad world. THEY are wrong. It is still...f ine, beautiful. Love. *PjS*

You inspired me along with choice others to write lyrics and a science fiction rock opera came of it a few years back but nobody was buying a musical graphic novel by unknowns but it got done and that's a something eh? Good advice and if I dip into lyricism again I'll keep your words close like wary friends. What do you do when your musician partner goes Southern Baptist and shared dreams are evil ones now?

Comments:Dear Peter, I don't quite now how I stumbled on a picture of Withywood, now called Withywood Hollow but I bought it 6
weeks ago. It was in a very sorry state indeed. The view from the
window has already been reinstated. I felled a dozen 40 foot leylandii that had completely blocked the vista. The rats have left, and the house is breathing again. Such a special place, a real bucholic idyll. I am busily tending to its needs. The modern extension will be tempered and the garden will return. This weekend I will open the windows and play a few of your tracks as loudly as I can.

Comments:Dearest Peter and Friends at SSOS,

Not long enough ago I watched the World Trade Center burn from my window. I thought it strange at the time that my British friends sent me their expressions of sympathy, condolences, support and solidarity, as I was after all not directly affected in the manner one would expect from an explosion and as I had only witnessed the event from a safe distance. And yet amid my personal feelings of despair, insecurity and communal sorrow, their kindness went a long way towards reassuring me that people elsewhere, where the sun still shone clearly, cared. I was oddly enough fortified by their compassion.

In light of the recent terrorist attacks on your soil, if I may, in kind, return the favor in the smallest of ways, I would like to express my deepest sympathies and condolences to all of you wonderful Brits there at SSOS who have given me so many hours of pleasure, both those of you who may have had personal tragedies and those who suffer of spirit.

I know now, why you sent us your sympathies, it is because it is true that all mankind shares one soul. As one is harmed, so are we all. As you shared in our pain I now share in yours. I cannot in truth say that things will ever be the same again, for they will not, but they will some day become ‘normal’ of sorts anyway. In these times of darkness, remember you are not alone you have many friends. I wish you safety, serenity and most of all...

Peace always,

~RJ~

I have instantly loved all of your work that I have heard, and was moved to write to you after hearing Andy Hill's beautiful and mesmerising recording of 'If You're Right'.
The chemistry on your collaborations is very evident and produces outstanding music, and like my Bucks Fizz friends I would love to hear any other demos or 'for fun' recordings that you have made.
Thanks once again

Comments:If You're Right is a beautiful song. Andy Hill's voice is perfect for the emotion conveyed by the lyrics. Can we have some more please? I would love to hear the demos for other tracks as you have said yourself in the past that they are often far better than the interpretation given by the recording artist.

Are you working on anything with Andy at the moment? I certainly hope so as I have always enjoyed listening to your past collaborations.

Comments:I've long been a fan of KC but I had no idea of the deep underpinnings of the lyrics.

This is one of the best websites on gnostic knowledge and inner alchemy I've seen.

I find that inner knowledge is pretty tough to describe and understand while unitiated and to the uninitiated, by initiated, I mean, prior to direct experience of gnosis.

But the mystery, as presented intrigues and compels.

You are welcome to peruse my website which I dedicated to the victims of the 9/11 tragedy.
http://awarenessplus.com where I made my own feeble attempt s at explaining the unexplainable.

Perhaps at some point I can return to this, I don't think I did a very good job of marketing my site (making it available to search engines)

So is man the ultimate species, or perhaps we're to evolve into creatures that appreciate anything they're in contact with, and find as much, and healthiest, contentment in the heart of magma, and deep space and cold rubbish tips as our current "homo sapiens" in the most lively-colored garden; so then there's no need to learn all that mostly googled "Cocky Comedy", or?

Comments:A lazy day in cold February -- not inclined to work, it suddenly occurred to me to search on your name. I was more than delighted to find your site, and to find it as profoundly textured as the music of early King Crimson, of which I was, and remain to this day, a fan. Thought I always loved the music, it was your lyrics that made the most profound impression upon me. (BTW, my book, Science and Spirit, will be published later this year. I feel certain, based on your written work, that you might find it enjoyable. I would be privledged to send you a signed copy upon expression of interest.)
