"I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns [diadems]. He has a name written on him that no one but he himself knows. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:

- Revelation 19:11-16

In Verse 13: "He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God."
The "robe dipped in blood" refers to a remarkable dialogue found in the 63rd chapter of Isaiah, a dialog between the prophet and the Warrior-Messiah. As Isaiah is shown the coming of Christ, it is as though he is standing in Jerusalem looking toward the south, toward Edom, and he sees a great warrior coming with garments stained red. He asks the question:

Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength? {Isa 63:1a NIV}

The warrior answers,

"It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save." {Isa 63:1b NIB}

The prophet asks again:

Why are your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress? {Isa 63:2 NIV}

The warrior replies,

"I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. I trampled them in my anger and trod them down in my wrath; their blood spattered my garments, and I stained all my clothing. For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redemption has come." {Isa 63:3-4 NIV}

- The Rider on the White Horse

"The white horse of Revelation is the same mystical horse which Prince Rupert received at the beginning of his journey. If you recall from a previous chapter Pegasus was the son of Poseidon, and the Gorgon Medusa.

"Pegasus served as Zeus' Lightening bearer, when Pegasus' own hooves could be heard thundering across the skies in a storm. As a tribute to his exceptional life and heroic deeds, Zeus honored Pegasus with a constellation in the sky."

- Pegasus

"The alpha Star of Pegasus is Markab, meaning "returning from afar".

In 1409 the Prophecy of Gamelon depicted the Second Coming of Frederick II..

The Last World Emperor

'Gamelon, a holy man of excellent piety had a vision about the state of the Church in future times before the last day. And this is what he saw...

A cherub said to Gamelon, 'Look to the South.' An armed man approached, dressed in red garments and wearing a ruby crown. And on the crown was written: 'All kingdoms ought to be beneath my feet.' ...The armed man bore an apple in his left hand and in his right a blood-stained sword..."

by Timothy Betts Ph.D. (p. 322)

("...pagan rituals purported to confer upon a "sacred king" endless life in an earthly paradise. This "life without end" -- actually perpetual death in exile from Eternity -- was granted by the great Moon goddess, who the Greeks called by the name Hecate, signifying "one hundred" -- a hundred months being the term of the sacred king's reign, after which he was sacrificed to the goddess. As his reward, the king would receive from the hand of the lunar goddess an apple, which served as his passport to a fabled island, located in the Western Ocean beyond the Pillars of Hercules, where he would live forever, never growing old.")

- Moloch!
by Thomas Jude Germinario

"...The cherub said, 'The armed man is an emperor who will come from the south, who will begin the evil of the Church and have an evil birth. He will be crowned by the Pope, subdue most of Italy and take power away from the Teutons...The Church's possessions wil be taken away and the priests slain...
The Frederick who reigned will reign, and will command and will extend his wings to the ends of the earth."

- Tarot and the Millenium
by Timothy Betts Ph.D. (p. 322)

"Christ is Priest and King by intelligence and love. He comes when the priesthood is exhausted, when the old symbols have lost their virtue, when the realm of intelligence is extinct. He comes calling back Israel to life, and if He cannot revivify Israel, killed by Pharisees, He resuscitates the world abandoned to the dead worship of idols.
Christ is living duty protesting eternally against imaginary right; He is the liberation of the spirit bursting the bonds of flesh; He is self-devotion in revolt against egoism. "

Resurrection by Matthias Grunewald

"It has been said by Alfred de Vigny that legend is frequently truer than history, because it is concerned with the genius of great men and nations, not with their acts, which are often incomplete and abortive. This fine thought applies above all to the Gospel, because it is no mere recital of what was, it is the sublime revelation of what is and shall always be. Ever will the Saviour of the world be adored by kings of intelligence, represented by the Magi; ever will He multiply Eucharistic Bread to nourish and comfort souls; ever, when we call upon Him in night and storm, will He come to us walking upon the water; ever will He strengthen our weakness and restore light to our eyes; ever will He appear to His faithful, luminous and transfigured upon Tabor, explaining the Law of Moses and moderating the zeal of Elias."

"Carl Jung said...

"What happens in the life of Christ happens always and everywhere. In the Christian archetype all lives of this kind are prefigured."

The Christian Archetype presents a much-needed psychological interpretation of images and events central to the Christian myth, which may be understood symbolically in terms of the individuation of modern men and women. The process of individuation, when it befalls a person, may lead to salvation or calamity."

- The Christian Archetype: A Jungian Commentary on the Life of Christ
by Edward F. Edinger

"On soft grey mornings widows cry
The wise men share a joke.
I run to grasp divining signs
To satisfy the hoax."

The "hoax" of Christianity is not that Jesus never lived at all but that such a powerful archetype could only have lived at one time and in one historic personage. Once the notion of Jesus as a one time event had been canonized, the divinity of all humanity could be easily denied and in the ensuing centuries long genocide, the Church and their "grey" friars tortured and killed many millions of people. As mentioned in chapter three, the death penalty for heresy was first enacted during the reign of Frederick II. In this context, "widows" and "grey" are references to the Inquisition.

"Deity for man is at home, not afield in distant skies. The kingdom of heaven and the hope of glory are within. They lurk within the unfathomed depths of consciousness. Divinity lies buried under the heavier motions of the sensual nature and the incessant scurrying of the superficial mind. It is the still small voice, drowned out mostly by the raucous clamor of fleshly, material and mental interests. It is a pure, mild Presence, awaiting the day when the outer man will give more heed to its quiet speech. The Supreme God is not available; but within the quietude of his own being every man may find a fragment of that same God, made personal in his own individuality. This is the burden of the lost wisdom of antiquity. ...In man the divine seed is the Christos, the son of the Almighty Father. It is no negative statement, but the glorious affirmation of all attainment, to assert that this germ of divinity within the heart is all of God that man can possibly absorb in the present cycle.

The indwelling god is himself being brought to birth within the womb of humanity. Each individual is gestating a divinity within the deeps of his own nature. Christianity has fervently exhorted us to look into the empyrean to find the unapproachable God. All the while the infant deity slumbers unheeded within the heart. Christianity has largely nullified the force of St. Paul's almost frantic cry to us: "Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is within you?"

"the price of nails"

"Christianity euhemerized the pagan conception of the germinal deity in us in the historical Jesus. But this has left the rest of mortals unsanctified. The personalized Christ cuts the commonality of mankind off from its divinity. An "only-begotten son of God," made to carry all the values and meanings in his human person, robs mankind at large of its birthright. The mistranslation of the Greek "monogenes" as "only-begotten" was an error fraught with the most terrific consequences for Christendom. It properly means "born of the one parent alone" (the Father, Spirit).

All Christian history would have been markedly different had not the historical Jesus been interpolated into the spiritual drama. By this diversion the aims of a true spiritual culture were sentimentally turned outward to the worship of an extraneous but romantic impersonation. The consecrated devotion of hundreds of millions of souls in Christendom for centuries, instead of being focused upon the effort to nurse to life a Christly spirit within the collective body of Western humanity, has been dissipated in almost total fruitlessness upon the figure of an historicized myth. The present demoralized state of civilization in countries most thoroughly saturated with Christian doctrinism confirms the sorry truth of this statement. And the earlier Christian history lends further corroboration in its record of bickering, heretical persecution, violent warfare and ghastly crucifixions that sicken the heart. And all this was perpetrated in the name of the personal Jesus! It could hardly have been done in the name of the spiritual Christos."

- Lost Light
An Interpretation of Ancient Scriptures
by Alvin Boyd Kuhn

"Certain of the Cathars affirmed that Jesus had no terrestrial existence, that he only came among men clothed in a spiritual body, and that the miracles recounted in the New Testament had a symbolic character and had been performed only on the spiritual plane. The blind were healed only of spiritual blindness, because they were blinded by sin. The tomb whence Lazarus rose from the dead was the dark abode in which man voluntarily imprisons himself. The true cult of the Cathars was the cult of the Holy Spirit, the divine Paraclete. That is to say, of the principle which enables the human spirit to attain the "real world," the invisible world, the world of pure light, "the permanent and unaltered city."

Christ Pantocrator

"The word Pantocrator is Greek, meaning "Ruler of all." The image expresses the central reality of the Christian faith; the Divine Majesty of the creator and ruler of all the world, made flesh and therefore visible to us in the person of Christ Jesus our redeemer. The oldest known icon of Christ Pantocrator was written in the sixth century and preserved in the remote monastery of St. Catherine in the Sinai desert."

- Christ Pantocrater
"In icons Christ holds up his hand with the third finger touching the thumb, imitating the sacred Byzantine gesture that spells out IC XC - the first and last letters of his name: 'Jesus Christus'."

- The Journey Thus Far

"A hand with index finger extended, middle finger curled to form a "C", thumb crossed over the ring finger and little finger curled into another "C" forms the letters IC XC, an abbreviation for the Greek name of Jesus Christ."

- Manus Dei

"Of all the prophecies in verse foretelling a future Saviour to which the West has given birth,, Vergil's Fourth Eclogue is the most famous. Before celebrating in his mighty epic the future of Imperial Rome, the poet painted in this relatively short poem his picture of the future ruler of the world. He lent him all the attributes of the Messiah : as befits a son of the Gods he shall greet Life with a smile. He shall bring peace on earth and the Age of Gold, and shall evoke once more the kingdom of Apollo. The Middle Ages never paused to reflect that Vergil's promise might seem to be fulfilled in Augustus, Emperor of Peace, the poet's patron. To that Christian age such prophetic verses could bear one interpration only--a miraculous foretelling of Christ's advent. That they foretold a 'Ruler' was no deterrent, for men were wont to praise Christ as 'King of the World' and 'Emperor of All,' and to represent him graphically in a mandorla, throned on clouds, bearing the globe and law book in his hand and on his head the diadem : the stern Ruler of the Cosmos."

"The word 'Messiah' comes from the Hebrew verb 'to anoint', which itself is derived from the Egyptian word messeh, 'the holy crocodile'. It was with the fat of the messeh that the Pharaoh's sister-brides anointed their husbands on marriage."
